2021 Vesak Full-moon Observance day

The Vesak Full Moon Poya Day is the day that commemorates the birth, enlightenment and Parinibbana (passing away) of the Buddha. Vesak is known as the festival of lights and is celebrated in many countries around the world.

To commemorate the 2021 Vesak Full Poya, there will be online Nirodha programs on May 26, 2021 with meditation sessions and Dhamma Talks given by Bhanté Samadhikusal

Instructions for Participants

To gain the maximum benefit:

  1. Prepare

  2. Follow from the beginning to the end

    • Reserve the time to dedicate for the program by turning off your phones and informing others that you are unavailable until after the program. If necessary, post a vacation notice.

    • Demarcate a space in a room where you can be undisturbed.

    • At meal times, partake in a meal prepared by a friend or member of the household who is not participating in the program or alternatively prepare your own meal on the previous day so as to have a simple ‘heat-and-eat’ meal available to you.

    • Ensure other relevant preparations and take measures that would allow you to practice undisturbed and with peace of mind.

Follow from the beginning to the end

    • If you are unable to do the full program and/or you do not have sufficient mental strength to stay with the program, in which case you can select the key sessions.  However by not participating in the full day’s program, you will meditate less and benefit less than otherwise participated fully.

    • It is recommended that Nirodha Regulars do this program fully and for DPP and upwards the entire program is compulsory.
