Meditation
Retreat
21 Days in Thailand
Accommodation at the Retreat Centre:
Your retreat fee covers shared accommodation for twenty one days. This means that you will be sharing with either one or two other yogis (of the same gender). All rooms have ensuite bathroom facilities.
Further, they are equipped with wall fans, windows with mosquito screens, a place to store clothes and solar heated hot water in the bathroom. Yogis are also provided with ozonized drinking water, hot water kettle, herbal tea, shampoo and shower gel. Each room will also have a hairdryer, plug-in mosquito repellent and flashlight.

Single Rooms:
There are a handful of single rooms available at the retreat centre, which is recommended for senior practitioners when attending a longer meditation retreat. The cost for this is an additional USD 328 as a single supplement. Please email me or fill out the logistics form to book a single.

Meals at the Retreat Centre
Your retreat fee covers three lacto/ovoo vegetarian meals. These meals will be entirely vegetarian with eggs being used for a range of dishes and offered with breakfast every morning. The retreat can accommodate vegans, please let me know if you are vegan so that dishes without egg can be prepared for you. If you have any food allergies, please let us know as soon as possible. The meals are sourced from the organic garden at the retreat centre, which uses traditional farming techniques and modern aquaponics systems for its produce. Produce that cannot be sourced from the organic gardens are purchased from local farmers in the Chiang Rai province.

Breakfast Egg
If you would like an egg with breakfast, you can pick up an “Egg Order Form” from the restaurant and chose how you would like your egg cooked, fill in your name/room number and leave it by the tea station at the end of dinner each night (for breakfast the next day). If you do not want an egg, please do not fill out a form.

Tea Station
You have access to a tea station throughout the day. This is stocked with a variety of herbal teas (mostly decaffeinated) and a type of breakfast or regular tea. If you need coffee for your mornings, please bring this with you and keep it in your room. Each room has a kettle and tea cups for the early morning. Water jugs in the room can be refilled with drinking water at the restaurant (individually) and used throughout the day for heating and drinking. If you bring a water bottle, this too can be filled at the tea station.

Weather in Chiang Rai for July and August
Our retreat will fall during the rainy “green” season in Chiang Rai. This usually characterized by temperatures within a range of 23°C and 31°C, along with heavy showers in the afternoon for about an hour a day. There may also be occasional thunderstorms.
We would recommend a shawl or light jacket for the early morning sittings and a poncho for walking meditation, as this would be most convenient (as opposed to umbrellas). A number of sheltered walking meditation stretches will be available to yogis in case of heavy rain. Further, large umbrellas are provided in the rooms, however, bringing your own smaller umbrella may be more convenient.
Mindful Resting Activities
Your retreat fee includes access to the herbal steam bath and the Himalayan crystal saltwater pool. These facilities can be used during the lunch and mindful resting periods, we will schedule this to avoid disturbance to noble silence. These facilities cannot be used on silent days.
Himalayan Crystal Salt Water Swimming Pool
The Himalayan crystal salt water swimming pool is covered and heated by a solar water system. The pool is ozonized and free of chlorine, and at a depth of 2.40m is a “swimming” exercise pool and not a dipping pool. Himalayan crystal salt water helps to cleanse the body while balancing the pH and maintaining the protective film of the skin. There is no lifeguard on duty for this pool.
Herbal Steam Bath
There are two herbal steam rooms at the retreat centre. Thai herbs, such as lemongrass and plai, are used in the steam for stimulating circulation and aiding the detoxification process. Sarongs are provided for yogis to use in the herbal steam bath and changing rooms are available. Further, please bring your own flip flops or slippers to use these spa facilities.
Airport Transfer and logistics form
We will arrange airport transfers to and from the Chiang Rai Airport for all yogis in either a taxi or minivan. The cost for this will range from between 100 to 350 Thai Bhat one way depending on whether you are arriving at the same time as others or not. You can pay this cost to me when you arrive at the retreat centre. Please let me know (if you haven't already) so that arrangements can be made.
