Preparing the katina cheevara (robe)

With guidance and direction from Bhanté Samadhikusala, yogis are preparing the katina cheevara or robe that was sewn and is here being dipped in natural wood dye to get the ochre color suitable for monastic robes. This is an ancient tradition that comes from the time of the Buddha and it is customary at the Katina period for monks to do this. Here in the picture there are Nirodha yogis and Bhante explaining the process for dying the robe.
