The first Nirodha retreat in Taiwan was held in Kaohsiung at the Guyan Temple in March 2019. The five-day residential beginner retreat taught by Bhanté Samadhikusalo was conducted in Taiwanese with assistance of an English-Chinese interpreter. Each day began with a sunrise sit and concluded with a question and answer session at the end of the day. The retreat was scheduled as the first event that would coincide with the grand opening of a five storied Learning and Community Centre at the temple. Overall, there was great happiness and gratitude for Bhanté teaching a retreat within this community.
