On December 7th, 2020 Bhanté Samadhikusala Bhikkhu offered a Buddha statue to bless and celebrate the 94th birthday of his preceptor Bhanté Henepola Gunaratana who resides in West Virginia, USA. The statue was offered at the army camp in Buttala accompanied with traditional blessings and the offering of flowers. The design and layout for the shrine area and moat brimming with water lilies was volunteered by a Nirodha yogi.
The inaugural ceremony of the statue and ceremony for blessings to Bhanté Gunaratana were attended by Nirodha yogis.
